You Know your Pup is Tired When...

Let me preface this by saying that Reggie took Gunner ice fishing yesterday and Gunner spent it out on the ice running as far as his little legs could carry him.
  • As soon as he got home he went straight to his spot on the carpet beside the couch and closed his eyes tight. zzzzzzzzzzzzz...
  • Aside from supper and bedtime he didn't get up for anything.
  • Normally when someone gets up in the morning Gunner is right on their heels, today he stayed in his curl until Reggie was almost all the way upstairs!
  • When I came upstairs he opened one eye, and looked at me sleepily.
  • He got up to eat his breakfast, and then when right back to his spot beside the couch.
That is one sleepy little pup. He is so sweet when he sleeps in a curl. And for a dog who is pretty much always on the go, this is kinda a big deal. I have to work today, and I think he will just sleep the afternoon away.

Enjoy your Sunday! Gunner sure is enjoying his :)

November?

Gunner and I have been able to enjoy the warmer weather recently, and looking back on our photos I kinda wonder is this really November?
Gunner bathing in the sun on a warm afternoon, and check out that yard that I raked!!!
Mommy, can we please go for a walk? It's sooo nice out!
Gunner and his new friend Pi. She gave him a run for his money, and he loved it!
So although it has been a little warmer (some days), and quite sunny (some days), I know that winter is lurking just around a corner. But I think at this point I'm ready for it! Bring on the white stuff! Sorry to all you non-winter enthusiasts. I mean with all the holiday talk recently you had to know I was gearing up for it. :)

I hope you're having a lovely weekend, it's a little grey here today, but I'm sure we will get outside and enjoy the not yet frosty weather once again!

Frosty Morning

This weekend Gunner and I went to visit my parents, and were able to fit in a little cottage time. This morning when we woke it was cold and bright with mist rising off the lake and frost adorning the countryside. Gunner and I went for a little walk down to the water to get a closer look at the natural beauty!

Isn't he sweet? What a perfect partner for a frosty morning stroll!

How was your weekend? Did you do anything fun?

The Cure to a Dreary Day

The last few days have been awfully gloomy around here, and Reggie was away until yesterday afternoon. But Gunner has been sure to keep my company with his cuteness and his puppy antics!
It's nice to have him around, especially when Reggie is away. Also, I have a hair appointment this afternoon, and I can't wait. I've been growing out my hair for a long time (for the wedding) and I am ready for a much shorter fresh cut! I'll be sure to share when I get back.

What are you up to this Thursday?

Weekend Wedding Update

I know, I know, the weekend is over. I meant to stop in quickly with a wedding update, but I just didn't have the time. I went to Orillia this weekend to visit my parents, while Reggie had a weekend away with the boys. My parents and I ended up going to their cottage, and on the way to and from mom and I got all the wedding decor figured out.
Mom and I chose some really beautiful mums to help decorate the outdoor area where we are having the ceremony. And decided on how all the centerpieces are going to look. With pine cones, natural grapevine, and fall colours my love of the outdoors and especially fall is really going to show through!
And recently I mentioned that I found the ties for the boys, I warned them they were bright! I think they will look great with the light blue shirts I picked out, and they are so close to the girls dresses everyone will be coordinated :)
All in all it was a good weekend. We got some relaxing in, including Gunner, decor decisions were made, we had a nice visit, and the boys had a fun weekend together. I just checked the long-term forecast - 20degrees and sunny, let's hope that rings true on the day. Only 13 days to go now!

Summer of Sun!

This summer has been wonderful, we have had so much sun! I am not really a hot and sunny weather kind of person but I have had some chances to get out and enjoy it. And as I mentioned here, Reggie, Gunner and I (and Reggie's mom and Hannah) got to spend the weekend up at the cottage last weekend and it was beautiful!

There was a lot of swimming! Gunner spent a lot of time jumping off the dock, and chasing Hannah (Reggie's parents Golden Retriever) around the cottage and the water. I got a bit of a sunburn, but it's doing fine now, and I think overall we all had a lovely weekend! :)

How was your weekend? I know it was a few days ago, but take a moment and dream yourself back there ;)

Cottage Weekends - gotta love 'em!

A couple weeks ago I mentioned that I was headed to the cottage for the weekend. It was a beautiful weekend full of sunshine, swimming, crafting and delicious food! (it always tastes better at the cottage)

Reggie spent lots of time fishing, and Gunner hardly stepped out of the water long enough to take a few photos. It was a wonderful weekend, and I am so looking forward to the next one - only a week and a half!

Here's dreaming of blue skies and fresh water! How 'bout you? What are you dreaming of this beautiful summer?

First Family Fish

So Reggie, Gunner and I went out last night for our first family fishing adventure. We had a busy weekend, so it was nice to relax and watch the sunset across the river.

I don't think Reggie actually caught anything. But talked about what we are going to say to each other at our Wedding - we are getting closer to having things organized!

The Cottage

So about a month ago, right when I got back from presenting my research in St. Catharines, I headed up to Reggie's family cottage for some down time. I'm not sure how a month went by without me ever posting about it, but it sure flew!

Reggie spent most of his weekend fishing, and Gunner spent it swimming with auntie Hannah (hehe). I swam, and read a magazine, and helped my mom-in-law burn half of an old couch that has been sitting around for some time. lol The boys were out for a fish, and we decided to have a fire, and one thing led to another. The bugs weren't too bad, but they were there. And when we tried to leave on Monday it rained, and poured and forced us to sit, relax and eat. What else are you supposed to do in such a small space when it is pouring? And all that rain left the drive out looking a little enchanted forest like. :) I so love long weekends, and lucky for us there is another one coming up soon!

I'm headed to a shower this afternoon, it sounds as though lots of family and friends will be attending. I will be sure to share upon my return!
