These looked so good; I just had to try them. Be warned, this recipe makes a lot! And it is half what the original recipe called for! Also, this post was supposed to go up on Day 13, oh dear...
1 cup butter, softened
2 cups brown sugar, packed
2 eggs
2¾cup all-purpose flour
½ cup baking cocoa
¼ cup instant coffee granules
½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
¾ cup chocolate chips
*The original recipe called for cinnamon chips instead of chocolate, but I couldn’t find them, and it was also double the amount. The above are the changes I made. The original recipe is found in Gooseberry Patch Christmas 2009 Magazine, p.27.
(what a lot of sugar!)
Beat butter until creamy, gradually add brown sugar. Add eggs, beating until blended. Combine flour and next six ingredients. Gradually add dry ingredients to butter mixture, beating at low speed until just blended. Stir in chocolate chips.
Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls, 2 inches apart, into lightly greased baking sheets. Bake at 350˚F for 8-10 minutes. Cool on baking sheets for approx. 5 minutes, and transfer to wire racks to cool completely. Makes about 4 dozen.
And there you have it! Day 13, just a little late. And don’t worry, there are still another 10 recipes to come! Check out some of the other contributors on the Bio Page.
