In the Deep Dark Wood...

... the mouse found a nut, and the nut was good.

This is where I walk Gunner, he's never as concerned as I am about the darkness in the early morning hours.

I always like it a little better when the sun begins to poke through the trees.

Labrador by Day, Newfoundlander at Heart

In November Reggie and I decided we wanted an addition to our little family, and no I'm not talking about a baby; we decided to get a puppy. Gunner, a black Labrador Retriever, joined our family on November 19, 2010. At first he was so small and timid, he would barely even leave our side. Now, if there is a squirrel across the yard, or a strange person walking down the street it is hard to get (and keep) his attention.

Gunner 12 weeks, first snow!

Gunner tuckered out after playing with Auntie Hannah
So far he has been a great addition to out family. We are exploring new areas for walks, and working hard to ensure we are all trained. Reggie says that Gunner is going to be a hunting dog, retrieving ducks just as he has been bred to be. I suppose time and training will tell, but I think he is well on his way!

What kind of pup do you have?

Weekend Wool :)

My handspun arrived on Friday from Shawn at Island Sweet. I was so excited! It has been a busy couple of days, so I haven't started to knit the shawl yet, but I am trying to decide what sort of pattern I want to use. Shawn very nicely sent along a pattern, I'm just not sure if it is the one what I want to use. Do you have a shawl pattern you think I should use? Leave it in the comments below, or e-mail me: nfldratheart [at] gmail [dot] com. I would love to hear from you, whether it is about a shawl pattern or anything else, please let me know! :)

And yesterday's tracks revealed! (Photos I did not take are linked below the photo)
