Fantastic People are Hard to Find

But it seems like I meet all kinds through my little internet home. This month I have had some amazing people spending a little time in my side bar. And I'd love to introduce you to them:

Aren't they just a bunch of lovelies? You should go say hello, and find out a little more about each one!

Project 300 Update: Days 1-8

So I thought I would randomly check in with you guys to let you know how I am making out with my project 300. So far things have been good, and although I am not completing a project a day, I am finding time to at least be creative (almost) each day. I took a couple photos to prove my creative productivity, and I other than that you will just have to take my word for it!

Here's what I've been up to lately in the first 8 days:
  1. A little needle time, finishing up a gift for a friend.
  2. Putting together some of my cards to stock in a local store. (eeek!)
  3. Designing some new products for my craft shop. (will have an update soon)
  4. Sewing the last little bit of a (very late) Christmas gift!
  5. A little sewing, a project for the hubby's v-day present.
  6. Still working on that knitting project from #1.
  7. Developing some new product for Knotted Tree Photography.
  8. Today was busy with a childcare search for pip, lots of phone time. But I did have time to plan/write a couple blog posts :)
So far things are going well. I am still saying that I started on January 20th (as opposed to 1st), until I feel like I have made a really good dent in the 300 days, and then perhaps I'll try to get the 300 in before the end of the year. So far I'm excited about having a little creative time each day, even it if it is only a few minutes.

Have you done anything creative lately?

Let me Introduce you...

I have a pretty fantastic gal to introduce to you today, she's one of the most honest and open people, and bloggers, I have ever met. So take a look, and make sure you read right to the end, because she's got a little something for my wonderful readers!
---------------------------------------------------------

Meet Marcy:

I started blogging back in 2010 after I read my girl Britty Bear's blog  Honestly I had NO idea what I should write about?!
I didn't have the slightest idea of how to "bring all da blogga's to muh yahd?"
Then I just started stalking all kinds of you women's and it just went from there...
...and I started writing about my upcoming nuptials...
...and I threw some beer and even wine into the mix...
My goal was just to meet new friends and have an outlet for myself. To document my life and I have horrible penmanship anyways so this was the best option for me.
They have totally changed. At first I was a fish out of water...
My blog three years ago and my blog today are completely different.
Somehow I figured out that I was actually kind of funny, I liked to curse, and I was quite snarky.
People like that apparently...
That is essentially what started bringing "all dem blogga's to muh yahd!"
I share a lot of ME. I am one of those people that, "what you see is definitely what you get." At this point in my life you either like me or you don't. You will find a lot of pictures of my family, friends, mustache shenanigans, and my over usage of GIF's.
Oh...
and how I have managed to drop 80 pounds so far since July... But that's no big deal right?

How in the hell did I fit my ass down that slide I will NEVER know?!
I like to party. That is all.
Oh and I am seriously OCD/ADHD/Anal Retentive.
So on a daily basis you can find me losing my shit on my poor family and driving them bat shit crazy when one thing is out of place.
"DAMMIT KIDS DON'T YOU KNOW THAT YOUR TOOTHBRUSH HAS IT'S OWN SPECIFIC SLOT IN THE TOOTHBRUSH HOLDER?"
...said no parent ever except me...
In a nutshell and in the words of my home slice Sammy I am the sweetest bitch you will ever meet just don't piss me off...

A Place I Long to Call Home

As you can likely tell from my Blog Name, I wish I were a Newfoundlander. Newfoundland is a beautiful place, with amazing landscapes, interesting culture and endless conversation. I lived out there for a time, and I miss it everyday, and although I know my Reggie would love it out there we currently don't have the means for a visit. So I revisit old photographs and relive old memories, and always keep my eyes peeled for a new Newfoundland Tourism video.

Enjoy, I know I always do!
From a wanna-be-Newfoundlander to the world!

Project 300: Getting Creative in 2013

I am so in! I have been interested in completing a 365 project, or perhaps a 52 project, but always feel a little overwhelmed by the commitment required. Well this 300 project seems like it might be fitting for me. Although, because I caught on a little late I am going to make today day 1 and then I still have 65 days I can skip if need be, or if I get ambitious I might still try to get in 300 days before December 31st, 2013.

So what will I do you ask? Well I love to create, and since Pip was born alot of my creating has been pushed to the back burner, usually because I'm too tired. But then, I find when I make the time for a little creativity I feel better, more energized, and excited to do more. So I'm not going to choose one thing like sewing, or knitting, instead I am just going to try to do something creative every day (almost). I am also not going to promise to finish a creative project each day, but at least work on one (if you have ever tried rug-hooking you would totally understand).

What about you? Do you think the 300 project would be something you might be interested in? Click on the image above if you want to see the original post on Oh My Handmade, and decide for yourself. There are so many days things you could do, and with 65 'free' days, the commitment is a little less intense :)

Here goes 300 in 365, getting creative in 2013!

Feelin' Crafty? Let's Swap!

Do you like to craft? Have you dabbled in many crafts? Do you have craft supplies coming out your wazoo? I know I sure do, and I was thinking the other day that I have enough craft supplies for at least three more stores, at least. But I know that wouldn't be in the best interest of my family, or my sanity. So I am proposing a craft swap.

Here's how it will work:
  • Have supplies you don't use? Want something new to add to your collection? Fill in this form.
  • All information must be submitted by Saturday February 16th.
  • With the information you give me, I will set you up with someone who has what you are looking for, and someone who wants what you are offering. You might not be sending to and receiving from the same person. You will know who you are sending to by Saturday February 23rd.
  • You must mail your supplies by Saturday March 2nd.

Think of it as Spring cleaning for your craft room/nook/corner. And while you take the time to sort out some of the things you no longer use I'm sure you could take a little time to organize - unless of course your craft area is perfectly organized all the time (very unlike me).

And there you have it, de-stash, organize, clean, however you want to put it, and maybe get some new supplies in the process. And please feel free to spread the word, the more the merrier!

Happy Saturday Loves

Let me Introduce you...

 Meet Danielle:

One of my Large Sponsors this month!
Her blog described in her own words: When I'm not doing homework, studying for exams, or watching my favorite TV shows, I'm usually online. I use this blog as my one creative outlet, as I was never good at drawing or painting. This blog is about all things beauty and fashion, and some tasty snacks once in awhile too.

This girl amazes me, as a student I'm not sure I would have had the ambition to write a blog and run it as a small business as Danielle is doing. I would highly recommend a pop over to her blog and take a few moments to look around. She has got all kinds of interesting things to read.

She recently completed a beautifully chic gallery wall, and shares her how-to here

And she is working on her What I Wore posts, something I have never been brave enough to do.
See a recent post here.

To read some of her other favourite posts from 2012 click here. And as well as writing a blog, she runs a super cute shop. It has lots of fun prints, like the one below.

And if you like what you see, which I guarantee you will, you can also find Danielle here:

 Go visit her now!

And that's it for today loves! I'll be back tomorrow with an exciting little event I'm sure you'll all want to get in on. Until then, Happy Friday!

Pip Update: 8 Months

From the eyes of a sweet little Pipster!

I'm getting big, you'd never believe it! The last month has been so busy I feel like it might have been more, but mama tells me it was only a month. I'm growing into clothes that were bought quite big and given to me as gifts - I think mom is hoping the growing slows a little so I can wear some of these cute things for more than a minute.
I like to snuggle with daddy on the couch, which was great in late December because he was off work for a little bit, and I got lots of snuggle time in. And of course I had my first Christmas! It was completely overwhelming. We went to daddy's parent's house on Christmas day and I had two very long naps, then on boxing day we visited mama's family and after a busy day, late night and morning of travelling I decided not to nap. But everyone kept me entertained with rides on shoulders, new toys and of course delicious holidays dinners :)

The few days after Christmas were great for lounging around! With Gunner in his Christmas collar and my in my candycane pjs; there is nothing cuter!

And just last week it was Daddy's birthday! Mama let me hang out with no pants throughout the day, which I thought was great until I realized she just wanted to get photos of my chubby legs - good thing I'm an easy going guy! In the evening we celebrated with Daddy's family and I even got to have some cheesecake :)
What else did I get up to this month? I went on my first ice-fishing trip, I started to clap and wave and make all kinds of cute sounds, and I'm trying to figure out how to get my toys that roll away. I'm getting there, I think before too long I'll have it all figured out, and then look out mom!

I hope everyone's Christmas was wonderful! I'll check in again in another month :)

New Storefront!

Am I ever excited! I just opened a new Storefront for Knotted Tree Photography at storenvy.com. What a great place, I love the layout and all the options! I'm excited can you tell? I still have lots of photos to list, but I figure I will add them slowly over the next couple weeks, and try to keep things as fresh and exciting as possible!

And, because I love all of you so much, and I know some of you have had an eye on a print or two, I'm offering a sweet deal in my new shop. So visit KTP @ Storenvy and choose something you would like, and use the code newstore at the checkout to get 25% off. And because I am such a nice girl, if there is a print of mine that you are dying for, and it is not yet listed in Storenvy, you can purchase a different print and let me know which one you would prefer. If that is confusing at all, feel free to e-mail me for clarification!

And finally, I was super excited to stumble on this giveaway from Crave Photography. I'm not sure with over 100 000 entries if I have much of a chance, but I would sure love that new lens!
Go to Giveaway
Anyways, it's getting late and I'm headed to bed. I hope you're all having a wonderful weekend!

52 Random Acts of Kindness: Week 1

52 weeks of kindness
Last year I tried to do something similar to this, but it seems that Amber has it all laid out and ready to go. I am excited to be a part of it, and I will even be co-hosting a week, coming up soon! If you have yet to lay out your New Year's Resolution then this might be a good place to start, and she even has 160 ideas to get you started! So you really have no excuse!

Now for my first week I'm keeping things simple with a couple of small acts! First of all, if anyone is looking for some free advertising, I am offering all of my sizes for free for the next month with the code FREE4FRIENDS. That's right, just visit the sponsor me page above, select whichever size you would like and get your ad for free! I am in the process of re-vamping my blogging system, and I feel this is a good time to help out some friends, old and new :) And feel free to pass the word on!

And my other act, is not blog related. Last week while driving down to Toronto with my little Pip to visit a few friends I did not get to see at Christmas time, I decided to be a courteous driver all the way there. I let multiple people merge in front of me, made sure to move over if there was someone coming up behind me, and just generally avoided being an aggressive driver. I think it made me happy, I'm not really sure the other drivers really noticed, but I knew so that's what mattered.

And those are my acts of kindness for Week 1! Are you interested in finding out more about 52 Weeks? Click the button at the top of the post to visit Amber's blog and learn all about it!

Until next time, spread happiness :)

Welcome 2013, here's what I have planned for you!

Well that was a bit of an unintentional blog break, but very much needed. I wound myself up just a little too tight before Christmas, getting ready for my first craft show, attempting to make all of our gifts, and of course keeping up with the Christmas Cookie Countdown - which if you follow along you noticed that I kind of disappeared after the 19th or so.

Since I faded away from the Countdown I spent my time finishing up a few Christmas gifts, visiting with family and friends, relaxing at home with my boys and dreaming about all the things I hope to accomplish in the new year. Reggie asked me recently what my resolutions for the new year are, and without hesitation I answered him:
  1. Eat more wholesome. I have always been a good eater, in my family you finished what was on your plate if you wanted dessert, and I always wanted dessert! And I mostly drink water, and tea, and I love all kinds of fruit and veggies, so I know I'm not that bad off. But with the rush of the holidays I realized how easy it is to slip into bad habits, like eating chocolate and Christmas baking for breakfast among others. So I would like to focus on eating more wholesome foods, and maybe branch out and try some new grains, fruits and veggies that I wouldn't normally pick up.
  2. Spend more time with my family. I am currently at home with Pip, but in about 4 short months I will be back at work, and I will be working a lot. So I'm really looking forward to another few months with my little guy, and hopefully when the time comes to go back to work I will be ready... I am also hoping to spend more time with my wonderful husband, I'm thinking perhaps an occasional date night would be a good plan. And of course visiting with Pip's grandparents, and other extended family is a must.
  3. Change my blogging routine. I've been lacking in motivation on the blog front lately. I have a whole post about this so I will keep it short here and promise to share more soon. Don't worry, I am not going away, just changing things up to get back some of that original motivation. :)
  4. Participate in another craft sale. Although I can't actually cross this on off the list yet, I can say that I have sent in an application to a show, and I should know in a couple weeks if I have been accepted! I will be sure to update as I know more.
  5. Find some time for me time. I am still a new mother, Pip is not yet 8 months old, and I love him to bits! But... I have always had a need for alone time, and I am finding it hard to find that time. So I'm going to work on that, not just for myself, but for the happiness of my family.
I plan to write a little more about each of these, you can expect a post for each in the next little while. What do you have planned for the New Year? I hope it is treating you well so far. I have to say I don't have any complaints as of yet :)

Now I'm off to enjoy a cup of tea and some candied almonds (a gift). Chat soon!
